Congratulations to the City of Seaford Electric Department on receiving 𝗥𝗣𝟯 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and the 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, again!
The City of Seaford Electric Department has received the RP3 Gold designation from the American Public Power Association (APPA). This designation recognizes APPA member utilities that achieve excellence in the areas of reliability, safety, training, and system improvement. This award is based on a 3-year compilation of established criteria, which includes measures the organization has achieved to improve system reliability, unplanned outage frequency, the average duration of these outages, the average interruption rate for each customer, and future planned improvements for the coming 3-5 years. RP3 designation is a nationally recognized honor that distinguishes utilities that perform to very high standards.
IN addition, we are also pleased to announce that the City of Seaford Electric Department has received the Diamond award in safety for group B. Group B is for public power utilities with 15,000-29,999 hours of work during 2023. The City of Seaford Electric Department worked 19,132.25 hours in 2023 with no injuries or loss time on the job occurrences. The City of Seaford Electric Department is among the best in the nation at keeping the lights on and doing it safely.
This national designation sets a high standard in all areas of utility operations, and the City of Seaford excels in each of them!
