WATER DEPARTMENT:
The City of Seaford Water department serves a population of around 6,928 people and has approximately 2,600 service connections. Water for the city is supplied through five wells, four elevated storage tanks with a combined capacity of 1,850,000 gallons, and a distribution network containing approximately 66 miles of 4-18 inch water mains. All developed areas can be served by the surrounding water mains.
Sodium Hypochlorite is added for disinfection, soda ash is added for pH adjustment, fluoride is added for healthy teeth and polyphosphate is used for corrosion control at all well treatment facilities.
